Meet Your Photographer

Hi! I’m Jacque! (she/her)

I have always had a deep and profound connection with nature ever since childhood, particularly up in the high mountains. I am also a trauma informed yoga instructor and have studied embodiment and somatic movement as healing tools. I am here you help guide you in your own connective process and capture the intimacy of your raw authentic self.

In 2018, I traveled to Nepal and had the opportunity to trek to Everest Basecamp & that is when everything changed on a fundamental level for me. That connection only grew, & traveling to Nepal really solidified the importance of that connection with nature to me.

In 2022, after the death of a very close friend, I used embodiment and somatic movement as key tools in my grief journey to better connect with my best friend as well as mother nature. As I tried to focus more on that connection, I began to see a major shift in focus in myself, in the outdoors, as well as in my work. My photography began to capture the connection I was having at that moment. I knew it was time to share that profound connection with the world and help cultivate that connection in others!

Nature First is built on a set of core principles that help communicate how each of us can enjoy nature photography responsibly. The Nature First Principles were developed to help educate and guide both professional and recreational photographers in sustainable, minimal impact practices that will help preserve nature’s beautiful locations.

  1. Prioritize the well-being of nature over photography.
  2. Educate yourself about the places you photograph.
  3. Reflect on the possible impact of your actions.
  4. Use discretion if sharing locations.
  5. Know and follow rules and regulations.
  6. Always follow Leave No Trace principles and strive to leave places better than you found them.
  7. Actively promote and educate others about these principles
